This product works OK but [. . . ] sells one that is $[. . . ] cheaper and better built. Also the base of this product is too light, necessitating taping it to the garage floor so that it doesn’t move when the car touches it. The Emerson product sold by Solutions works the same way but is much better built.

  • This is a great product! Everyone always asks me where I got it. Mainly used for my husband, who seems to have depth perception issues, but it works great! Only drawback is that the base isn’t weighted all that much and it can be moved around fairly readily . . . namely by my kids. I plan to glue/epoxy/silicone (something) it to the garage floor. Even if the light goes out, it’s obvious to stop when the thing starts to bend. :)

This works reasonably well, but as stated before in a previous review, the bases are very very light and flimsy. Upon repeated use, I found these things actually moved because the base was so unstable it slid on my garage floor.

There are probably better products than this on the market, but none that are quite so basic and easy to use.

  • Could not be simpler to assemble or use. Just place where you want to stop it doesn’t slide around unless you want to move it. The upright rod is very flexible and when approaching the slightest touch sets off flashing red light and even if it didn’t have a light it’s obvious when you touch it. Sometimes simple is better!

  • This is a great device. It protects my bumper, the wall in front of the car and an occasional argument with my wife about our parking skills!
